The orginial C.C. Spaulding High School and Teacherage are Rosenwald Schools.

Rosenwald Schools within Edgecombe, Halifax, Johnston, Nash and Wilson counties are historic institutions that strengthened educational access for black students during the early 1900s. The NC State Historic Preservation Office has completed an in‑depth survey documenting these schools. This report captures their stories, architectural history, and the ongoing efforts to preserve these important community landmarks.
